Real deals on things worth owning

Parents love a deal. We only show one when the maker's own site lists a higher regular ("compare at") price, checked 2026-10-20. We never invent a discount or a "typical price."

Micro Maxi kick scooter (Warehouse Deal)

30% below the maker's regular priceAdventurousAges 5–12 yrs
$90.99$129.99 on microkickboard.com, checked 2026-10-20

Lean-to-steer Swiss design for kids ages 5 to 12 (per Micro). The scooter is the independence vehicle, and Warehouse Deals are Micro's own discount program.

What real parents say: Wirecutter's top pick after testing 19 scooters with kids aged 1 to 12 since 2018. Sources

Honest drawback: Warehouse Deal units may have cosmetic flaws. Read Micro's terms.

⚠️ Helmet every ride.

Sarah's Silks Star Cape & Crown Set

21% below the maker's regular priceAges 3–8 yrs
$41$52 on sarahssilks.com, checked 2026-10-20

A silk cape becomes a superhero, a queen or a night sky. Open-ended dress-up that folds into a pocket and doesn't steer kids toward any one character.

Honest drawback: Silk needs a gentle wash. It's a cape, not a costume, which is the point but may disappoint a kid who wants Elsa.

⚠️ Use as a cape only while awake and supervised. Nothing around the neck at sleep.

Tegu Non-Magnetic Perfect Blocks, 120 pieces

20% below the maker's regular priceBuilt to lastAges 3–10 yrs
$40$50 on tegu.com, checked 2026-10-20

Beautiful wood blocks in a modern palette. They look nice enough to leave out in the living room, which is half the battle for getting kids to play with blocks.

Honest drawback: Non-magnetic, so towers topple more easily than with Tegu's magnetic line. Some kids find that frustrating, others find it more satisfying.

The seasonal deals calendar

WhenWhat to expect
JanuaryPlayroom reset. Clearance on holiday stock; toy rotation season.
February–MarchSpring-break travel kits. Watch for brand spring sales.
April–MayOutdoor gear and bikes. Plan summer.
June–JulyRoad trips. Amazon Prime Day (July) and competing retailer sales.
AugustBack to school: devices, first-phone questions, art supplies.
September–OctoberEarly holiday lists; brands start "early access" sales.
NovemberBlack Friday & Cyber Monday: the biggest real discounts of the year on many brands.
DecemberStocking stuffers and last-minute; shipping cutoffs.

Why quality toys feel pricey right now: toy prices rose 6.6% year over year in the September 2026 CPI, after a year of tariff changes. Buying fewer, better things, and buying them during real sales, is the rational response.
