Safety disclaimer
Screen Free Parent provides general information, not medical, legal or professional safety advice.
- Age grading: we show each maker's age grading and warnings as published on their product page, with the date we checked. Always read the packaging and instructions, which may include warnings websites don't show. Our suggested ages are never younger than the maker's minimum, and sometimes older.
- Supervision: all activities, and especially the risky-play, tool, fire, water, climbing and kitchen activities, require appropriate adult supervision and the right safety gear (helmets, gloves, eye protection, safe landing surfaces) for your child's age and ability.
- Small parts: keep small parts, magnets, button batteries and water beads away from children under 3, and from older children who still put things in their mouths.
- Sleep: follow the AAP's safe-sleep recommendations and every product's instructions.
- Furniture: anchor dressers, shelves and bookcases.
- Prices and availability change. The maker's site is the final word.
- Laws on child independence and knives vary by place. Check yours.
